DISTRIBUTION OF THE YEARLY DATA, ON EACH YEAR, IN EACH QUARTER

data are about:

  • expense
  • n° of purchases
  • n° of days of purchase
  • expense frequency (n° of days of purchase over n° of calendar days up to the current day)
  • dates of purchase (distribution of the days of purchase, in the year, and in each month)

each rectangle represents a quarter with expense

you can sort the years in many ways

each light blue rectangle’s and white rectangle’s length, represents a quarter

tap any card for the days of purchase distribution in the year, to see the distribution within each month

you can see, at a glance, whether:

  • the expense has been frequent, in the year (month or quarter)
  • whether the days where money has been spent, are concentrated in any part of the year (any part of the month or quarter)
  • whether the days of purchase are close to one another

(that data is actually useful for a single category or sub category as opposed to the overall expense, since, odds are, you spend money almost every day)
